Cirque de CRTC - 2011-77 Rebuttals, Day 5, Public Hearings

.
Audio feeds :

Floor :
»www.crtc.gc.ca/streaming ··· loor.htm
Floor Raw :
»www.crtc.gc.ca/streaming ··· loor.asx
English Raw :
»www.crtc.gc.ca/streaming ··· -eng.asx
English MMS address for VLC Player :
»mms://STREAMER.crtc.gc.ca/stre ··· -english

I expect these to be OK as they were said to work other days.

VLC Player allows the Volume to be boosted to up to 400%, which may partially compensate for mumbling, but not for GigaMICE, etc.

Revised Schedule for This Week

.
Note that now JF and MTS not only get to rebut BHell's original statements, but also can rebut BHell's rebuttal, if they can take a few new notes quickly enough.

»www.crtc.gc.ca/Telecom/e ··· 8_07.htm

UPDATE : The above link seems to have gone dead.

There were two schedule amendments, the last of which (July 15th) resulted in the below sequence, courtesy of AndyB :

»/r0/do ··· ion1.pdf

»/r0/do ··· ion2.pdf

These were emailed to participants and NOT posted on the CRTC web site, AFAIK.

(NOTE : JF's revision post immediately next below is of the first revision and is now outdated.)

Just when everyone is conjuring up mental images, I gotta ask : Female Twins ?

And speaking of mental images, the labelling of this week's proceedings as an 'Oral Rebuttal' strikes me as somewhat lewd and lascivious.

Butt we cannot allow double-entendres to distract us from the matter at hand (or CAN we ?), so on with the Show !

Re: Cirque de CRTC - 2011-77 Rebuttals, Day 5, Public Hearings

I'll be posting my own independent six minute video rebuttal on YouTube tonight. There's a few things I need to get off my chest even though the CRTC is unlikely to consider what I have to say.

Just frustrated that the CRTC has gone along with this farce of a billing system for so long.

Shouldn't the incumbant network be able to support full saturation on all of the links they are selling, at the same time?

Is this where the "congestion" comes from, because they cannot do that?

He keeps harping on the same thing. "If we use 95th percentile billing, they're going to try to use their whole pipe!"

Um.

If I pay for a gig-E, and I pay fully for a gig-E, I want to use a gig per second. Period. I don't give a damn if my using the full gig per second that I AM PAYING FOR causes you to have to expand your capacity. Selling me a Gig-E and saying I can only use 50% of it only means that you sold me something you can't bloody deliver.
