1 edit | Can't seem to broadcast using stickam and some other sites Ever since I switched to AT&T DSL 12 mb/sec service a few days ago I have not been able to broadcast using stickam. It goes as far as activating my web cam, however the broadcast window is shaded in gray and my broadcast does not start, i can't chat, or anything. However I can view other people's broadcasts and chat and broadcast in their rooms with no problem. I have a similar issue using some other sites. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
edit - Also noticed that using speedtest net's speedtest from naugatuck CT to new york city, I can't seem to test past 2.5MB/sec down and 0.5 mb/sec up.... only have been hooked up for 2 days. Unfortunately I somewhat expected this issue judging by the horrid reviews of this internet service, however I have no control over what my family uses for internet. Ping is decent at 30 to 60, with occasional spikes to 100. One bit of confusion is that the guy my father ordered the service from said the fastest NON U-verse service is a 12mb/sec service, however on the site it says 6mb/sec so that is what I stated in the original question stated above... however if the fastest regular DSL service is actually 12mb/sec then 2.5 mb/sec download is unacceptable. For anyone answering this post, please focus on the original question above first if possible. This edit is just a couple other things I wanted to touch on and get some input on. Thanks |

| Since I don't know what "stickam" is, and am too lazy to look it up, perhaps you could fill in a few more details?
Usually, when DSL has problems, knowing what things like SNR and Attenuation are can help in troubleshooting. However, that requires knowing something about the equipment in order for the helper to guide you in locating the information.
And, since you mention this last, it appears that you have a U-verse Internet only service. The hardware is different for the IP-DSLAM than for the ADSL DSLAM. ADSL service can only go to 6 mb/s down for AT&T (could be closer to 8 mb/s, if they wanted, but they don't). I know one of the devices used for ADSL (SpeedStream 4100), and a little less about another (Motorola 2210). But I know nothing about the IP-DSLAM modems and service (other than they use ADSL2+). -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

 | Which other sites have you tried it with? For some reason that I can't figure out, Stickam always gives me problems, but I have better luck on Facebook Video Chat Rounds for example. Not sure why...maybe it has to do with being logged-in? |
