Outage in Southern Metro Denver . . . All fixed "NOT!"

I came to see if anyone else has posted, but haven't found anyone. And I'm trying to squeak this in while I'm up still and running for the brief moments that I have a connection tonight. My Phone Line and DSL went out sometime between 5am and Noon on 07/20. I worked all night and slept till Noon. Service was out all day. How I found out the phone line was wonky too was then I went to call Tech Support and got the Auto-Attendant it was talking over himself in a three part echo. Then when the Spanish person joined in it was like there were 5-6 people talking at the same time. But the one thing that I am noticing is when the DSL comes back up, that if I make a call on that land line while the DSL is working the second that the call connects the DSL goes out. Then in a couple of hours it comes back same thing all over again. This is an entirely new and a totally unique experience for me. It has given me a new feeling of "Home" and things around me being closed off from the World. I have gotten so much done today that I should have gotten done years ago. It is inspiring and liberating.

Well waddya know, just lost my DSL again. Will have to post this via dial up. Ya don't know what you have until it's gone. Boy is that true. Had to use another line in the main house for a dial up. The line that goes with the DSL has a dial tone, but will not initiate a dial up connection. It dials, I get the tones, but my computer won't sync up and connect.

The earliest that they could send a tech out is Friday morning, having been told that there many others that are having problems also. There must be a lot if I can't get someone out here until then. Every other time they couldn't get a tech out here quick enough. What problems are going on, I was not told, but there must be a lot with problems if it's taking two days for a tech. This is the first time ever with any provider had I have had any thing like this happen.

I hope this has nothing to do with the Qwest/Centurylink transition?! Oh and it's just me. None of my neighbors that have Qwest phone and DSL are having these issues.

UPDATE!!!

Had a tech scheduled for tomorrow morning but after talking to the TalkToUs people today, everything was up and running in grand style late this afternoon. And it has been great since.

Thanks! You are the best.

Another UPDATE . . . .

07/23/11
If I hadn't canceled the ticket that was originally put in, the tech should have come yesterday, Friday the 22nd. Well my phone and DSL came back up Thursday night and all was great. To catch up on the time I lost I worked until 6am on the 23rd. At 11am I was woken up by a family member saying that the DSL was down again. I checked the phone and it was completely down this time. And then a family member said there was a Centurylink truck outside the house. I wandered out to the truck to greet a very pleasant man and I told him that everything was down now, but working fine until 6am, the last time I used it. Good thing, he was about to leave thinking all was fine. I told him of the problems that I had, of which his ticket said nothing of. He was on a ticket from a couple of years ago. He asked if I had canceled the call, I told him I did Thursday night, set for action Friday morning. But now I was completely dead on all fronts. He went back to the crossbox and saw that the wiring he had replaced was not hooked up. The replaced wiring was done since he could not find the problem that the ticket told him I was having. OF WHICH was years ago and from what he said, as they all did before him, that there were no problems. Until one commonly smart man came out and saw things no one else did and gave me the tools, a new to me/used modem that deals with what he saw as issues on my line and all has been good since. Including surviving their upgrade to FTTN with the same modem. And up until the last big outage all was good. So either the old problem, bad cabling from the CO to the crossbox had been fixed contrary to what I was told would happen by Qwest, or this person just said what he did. Who knows? Needless to say the system failed on this. I was all warm and tingly about this and now may start looking for a new provider. I can not have this kind of uncertainty. If he had only contacted me first, of which he says he did but since the phone was down . . . how? I could have told him not to waste his time.

Right after he realized that he did not hook up the new wires at the crossbox and rectified that, I was back up and running. But . . . the ticket was canceled Thursday night. It's Saturday and he was working off a two year old ticket!

Re: Outage in Southern Metro Denver . . completely intermittant

08/03/2011
Got up at 6 am, and everything was dead again. I ran all the usual "internal" checks and started writing eMails to be delivered via Dial-up which didn't work either. So I chalked it up to another lost day. At about 11 am, things started to come back up very slowly. I wonder what the "H" is going on? They fired up the FTTN last November. The bugs should be long gone by now. Unless it's the typical "Qwest can't leave things alone when they are working as they should"?

As I stated before with just the one botched service call, I can't have that kind of uncertainty. Now that things are randomly disappearing, this is completely unacceptable. Ironically a door-to-door salesman for Comcast came by tonight. This time I kept the lit.
