PlugPBX

Just in case anyone wasn't aware, some folks are using the "plug" appliance (i.e. "Sheeva," "Marvell,") with FreePBX:

Yes. Several of us are also using the related Seagate Dockstar device with Asterisk/FreePBX, or with FreeSwitch.

I think there is also a discussion of the merits vis-a-vis the Dockstar vs the Pogo devices on this forum.

I took my one remaining dockstar that I had set up for googlevoice running Debian Lenny and Asterisk 1.8 and turned it into a print server running Debian Squeeze and CUPS. Works like a charm.

After finally pulling my Obi110 off the shelf where it sat for three months, I just didn't see the point in running Asterisk on the dockstar anymore. I already had a full blown asterisk server running on a PC, so I didn't need anything other than the gTalk, which the Obi does very well on the cheap.

@jet101 & springbokke:

Nice! I've got a "sheevaplug" style device I got from CISCO to test for
network monitoring and they never sent the instructions. It's like pulling
teeth trying to get information the net. From what I can tell, these little "plugs" are little micro computers with onboard RAM of 512mb.

If I can find some instructions, I'm firing mine up

Haven't messed around with mine for a while, so my memory is foggy, but I think I followed the instructions from here:

I tinker with mine too much to have anything that looks like that. But I have let it run for weeks at a time -- works great.

That's is not a bad deal with a FREE S/H cost.
