 | ViaSat 1 launch date moved In case people haven't read about it..... The viasat-1 launch date has been moved to mid September due to a possible solar array deployment issue(another satellite recently launched, with the same array setup, had a deployment problem).
»www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011···ed-back/ quote: ViaSat of Carlsbad said Thursday that the launch of its $400 million ViaSat-1 broadband Internet satellite has been delayed about six weeks because of additional testing on solar arrays.
The satellite, which had been scheduled to launch in early August, now is expected to blast off from Kazakhstan in late September. International Launch Services (ILS) is handling the launch using a proton rocket.
Once ViaSat-1 is in orbit, it must be tested. The company expects the satellite to begin powering Internet service to subscribers in late November.
