There was a bang, not far off, a rumble, and a significant jolt with attendant further noise and sideways wiggle here, near MacArthur and Fruitvale, pretty close to epicenter. The rumble and bang is pretty characteristic of the little quakes I experience; this one got the heart pumping...no damage, afaict.

I felt the initial wave, which was a big jolt, strange noise, things rocked for a few seconds, I could feel which direction the wave came from. I remember a quake that hit San Juan Bautista a few months ago, it was a 4.0, I could feel the direction that the wave came from (SE from where I was sitting), but I could feel little ripples as the ground moved. The quake today was not like that.
