| reply to hardly I have the Q100, and I believe that it is a VDSL2 modem only. I could be wrong, but that is what I believe. There are plenty of ADSL modems available, through a lease via Qwest, or on eBay and Craigslist.

Re: Q100 used with ADSL or ADSL2 ? Q100 is a Vdsl2 modem. The actiontec Q1000 is Vdsl2 or Adsl2. I tried mine for about 5 days before my line was converted to Vdsl2 & it worked fine for me.

 | reply to hardly Hi Hardly, Rich here with CenturyLinkHelp; Just had this converstation with a few of our top tier support techs and this is the consensis: "on paper and per our guidlines the Q100 is not capable of supporting ADSL/ADSL2; but it has been known to be working both ways even though it is technically a VDSL2 modem only." So it is a vague yes it is possible it will work, but it is not supported under that use. Please let us know if you need anything further.

hardlyPremium join:2004-02-10 USA | Thanks Rich, I appreciate your efforts. I was aware that the Q100 is both: 1. unsupported by Qwest for uses other than VDSL2 2. theoretically capable of ADSL/ADSL2 operation I was hoping to find someone with real world experience using ADSL/ADSL2 with this modem. Thanks again. |

hc @iauq.com | reply to hardly yes but my point is that the q100 and q1000 are vdsl modems, so if the q1000 works with adsl, then perhaps so does the q100. I would assume by this time you have plugged it in to see if it syncs? |
|
hardlyPremium join:2004-02-10 USA | The point is that the Q100 and the Q1000 are made by two different manufacturers, utilizing different chipsets. The only thing they share is the Q in their name. The purpose of this thread is that I do not have a Qwest line, and am unable to test. |
