davis_mc join:2006-08-09 Colorado Springs, CO | VTBrendan still around? Curious, is VTBrendan still around? His DSLReports profile shows that is was last seen on 11-20-2010.
The Viatalk service is working great for me and all but I'm curious if there are new features on the radar that aren't in the "lab". I'm still hoping and wondering if the call transfer (blind transfer, etc) may be able to be worked out.
VTBrendan's presence on this forum and his involvement, especially knowing in his role, that he didn't need to but he did -things like that inticed me to Viatalk years ago. As I recall, the same aspects with others as well.
I hope all is well with VTBrendan. |

I guess the goings-on here are not of much interest to VT.
They're just not that much into us.... |

davis_mc join:2006-08-09 Colorado Springs, CO | Yep, this is a little concerning.
VT folks, is there no longer any interest in this forum or information from the Viatalk customers?
Is the writing on the wall on the future as a result? |

And contact the folks from there if you wish. |

davis_mc join:2006-08-09 Colorado Springs, CO | Oh trust me, I am well aware of that site. I have been a long time customer of Viatalk.
Yes, the service is working great and I hope it continues to. But when people start to not participate and be involved. It can be a cause of concern. It makes one consider on devotion and staying on top the competitive aspects to lead and not follow. I, for one, have always valued Viatalk for addressing things that other VOIP providers do not seem to provide on their feature list, and for Viatalk's leadership. |

| reply to davis_mc Is there another better competitive site to dslreports? Or has ViaTalk become a little more mature lately and questions and changes have slowed down. The general VOIP forum has slowed to me quit a bit also. Yes a few newbie providers bringing unique things. But in general slowed. Maybe the regular dslreports member questions have been answered and our site does not attract many new members? Or is it the companies are stable. |
|
 | reply to davis_mc yes i have seen a lot less participation from the viatalk enthusiasts. What has happened to them and no viatalk discussions going on at all. |

As an independent observer with no opinion "pro" or "con" ... no axe to grind ... might I suggest that current ViaTalk customers in the BBR Forums rush to the »User reviews - ViaTalk pages to enter or update reviews. Although some might consider this "incitement", I am simply suggesting a way for us BBR Members to judge how much continuing interest in ViaTalk exists and what do VT users currently think of the product and service. |

 | reply to davis_mc You need to make your contributions for any service that you use and we expect the same from the viatalk users to share their opinion on what they like or dislike about something. Otherwise how will viatalk improve or other people know about it. |
|
davis_mc join:2006-08-09 Colorado Springs, CO | Actually, I think by virtue of several of the posts by users I think that has been done but lacks response from the company. |
|
 | reply to davis_mc Service is still workin great for me - It was nice when VTBrendan was here, but I think the threats of "VT needs to do this or I'll switch to..." tend to downgrade the professionalism of entire forum. |

| reply to davis_mc Service is still working fine for me.. WAF is high and when we pick up the phone, we don't even think about it being VOIP. The feature set is more extensive than I use, and the one's I do use work flawlessly. Most users are not in the habit of posting "fair weather reports". The problems I've seen discussed here over the past 6-8 months have been either billing-related or, in my opinion, ISP-or local network related. |
|
 | reply to davis_mc Service was working for me after about 3-4 years of service.
Ooma's offering took me away though as I got a hub pre-tax-charging days so I don't pay anything now.
Is the quality as good as viatalk in general? Not exactly but for a non-essential home phone service it does the job.
Beyond the sunrocket death choking the customer service lines of viatalk a few years ago, I never had any major issue with them.
It was purely a cost motivator for me to move on. |
