Trend Micro's Titanium cause FAP?

Is it possible that Trend Micro's Titanium cloud base technology be causing excessive usage? Another person is using the software and complaining about FAP. From their web site "Cloud technology — leverages the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network plus real-time antivirus scanning to provide always-on Internet protection to keep you safe from the latest and ever-evolving malware threats".

Any thoughts? Would this cause problems such as P2P or Carbonite?

The Trend Micro page also includes:

quote:
...in cyberspace or "the cloud."

And because processing is done in the cloud, Titanium uses less of your PC’s memory and disk space, so it won’t slow you down
Since computer processing is being done in cyberspace, there must be communication through a network to the user's computer. It is possible their Titanium antivirus software is a bandwidth consumer.

Use Fapzilla to read the FAP meter and use Task Scheduler to automatically execute a batch file that reads Fapzilla and "netstat -e" and save the results to a text file. Run the computer for a while with Titanium running and then with the software disabled.

Not sure the person could figure out Fapzilla but already suggestd Netmeter to see how much activity is present.

Then use the Three Finger Salute (Ctrl + Alt + Del), and bring up Task Manager...and watch Networking.
