I thought Christmas on Rogers comes every April/May, when they do their annual rate increase?

Go on Live Chat (www.rogershelp.com/chat) and ask them to add: Rogers Hi-Speed Extreme+ HU (WHUK)

Upstream bonding isn't something you enable or everyone would have it already. Rogers is going node-by-node (a node is about 100-200 houses) and checking the lines before setting up uptream bonding. They have to make sure the channels are free of interference before they can enable them.

Most modems have dual colour lights. You'll get blue for bonded and green for single channel. If you look at your modem and the receive light is blue but the send light is green it means your neighbourhood doesn't have bonding yet. If they're both blue you should phone in and get the higher profile. If they're both green then you're probably out of luck, but you might have a modem without dual colour lights (I'm not sure what models Rogers uses). You can also check by going to »192.168.100.1 and checking the signal information.

thanks i just tried that and was told: Shaun: I’m sorry that I will not be able to assist you with this. We are only trained to provide technical support. To better assist you with making any account changes, including upgrading or acquiring Rogers services or packages, please call 1-888-ROGERS1 (1-888-764-3771) to speak with a customer service representative.
i have a feeling im gonna be wasting my time calling as i already tried that. any advice on what to say on the phone? my eyes have already started rolling thinking of the call!! please offer any advice.

There's nothing you can do. Just keep calling until you get a rep that knows how to use their knowledge base system.

You can't possibly be suggesting that Rogers CSRs are anything other than highly trained, highly motivated, informative, intelligent customer service oriented individuals whose skill, dedication and determination to make the customer happy are known the world over as cutting edge broadband specialists.......

You chated with tech support. The link I gave you is for customer care and not tech support. If Upstream Bonding is available in your area then they will be able to add the package for you.

i tried both customer care and tech support got different answers as to why they couldnt help me. finally one says i have to call as opposed to chat like that makes any difference.

Are they saying they can't do it for you or do they seem to have no clue as to what you're talking about? Keep in mind, just because you have upstream bonding, doesn't mean you qualifiy for the higher upstream tier. Your address must have a higher upstream tag before the higher upstream tier can be added. I believe most of the Toronto area has this now but im not 100% sure.

If the reps aren't helping you because they don't know what you're talking about then escalate it to a manager, and if they don't know, write the office of the president. This way Rogers understands how their lack of proper communication and training is wasting company time and resources.

I currently have a yr contract with 50% off extreme package. If I get them to add the HU tag on my account, will I lose my discount?

Rebooted my 3825 today for s&g and I now have 8/4 channels. Called tech support and still no higher upstream available notice on my account.

Is there a delay between the upstream channels being assigned and the system realizing I can now have 75/10?

Thanks Pesterd!

I got both mine and my parents account on HU last night and tonight (talked to 2 different reps). Maybe you're not eligible yet because I remember calling back in late June and no one had a clue what I was talking about either. But now that I am eligible, they can see it on the screen and know what i am talking about.

Just to add... my parents are in scarborough and i am in downtown (waterfront condos)

Practically everyone in the 416 area is eligible now. I'm not surprised reps don't know. It isn't actively promoted internally so unless a rep takes it upon themselves to research this, they won't know.

Just had a thought. Wouldn't it be hilarious if Rogers slapped a surcharge (an extra $20 or so) on all the HU users monthly bills once this high upload thing is fully implemented.

I know, it aint supposed to cost extra but we are talking Rogers here...............

Be kinda hard to argue with Billing after calling Rogers and requesting the upgrade.....

Which tier are you on right now? Perhaps, I can get you the product code so that the rep can look for it in the system.

They clearly didn't understand your request. They probably have no idea that there are higher upstream tiers that cost the same, so he/she probably assumed you wanted to upgrade to the next tier.

Well.....Rogers certainly isn't wasting any time trying to slap on that HU surcharge I posted previously about. Only $5 extra? Hmmmm..Even I'm impressed. I thought it would be $20 at least..........

Looks like I was right. Rogers has just cranked up the cost of Ultimate by $23 month when deployed and if that carries over to the lower tiers we're looking at a substantial rate increase. XMas comes early to Rogers......

Can you please stop spewing incorrect information on these forums?

There is no surcharge for high upstream at this time, and there likely never will be. Once upstream bonding is enabled in the entire footprint, all eligible customers will likely be automatically migrated anyways.

Ultimate has not been jacked up by $23. This is just their 150mbps offering. The $99 75mbps tier is still considered in market and is available to anyone who wants it.
