| Word is when the Lion's #2 pick Leshoure tore his Achilles they made an offer to Ricky, but the Ravens swooped in with a deal good enough to end that fast.
My guess is that the Ravens were taking their time, investigating and negotiating, and may have had to agree to the 2 yr deal (I can't see the Lions offering 2 with Leshoure maybe back in a year).
But Ricky had to be at the top of their shopping list by a decent margin.
Still leaves backup QB and OL depth.

It's a great pick up. Low base guaranteed with lots of incentive non-cap based comp.
He's still over 4.0yards/carry in his last 2 seasons. Amazing at 34. He's a more bruising back then McGahee. I can count on 2 hands the number of times McGahee was stopped on 2nd and goal. 1 hand too many. |
