No Connectivity on Westell Versalink

Help Please!! I'm not tech savvy by any means so apologize in advance. I am unable to connect to the internet through my wireless router setup. I have used this router for close to 7 years with this just happening as of last week. Here's the situation. There are solid green lights on the router for DSL and Wireless. There is no light for the internet. I have tried unplugging everything, powering down, and re-attach/power on a couple minutes later. I have even tried the reset button on the back. I have also disconnected the phone cord from the back of the router and plugged into a phone with the success of a dial tone. My laptop doesnt even pick up "Network Connection" i had setup. After over an hour on the phone with tech support at Verizon, the geniuses final decision was I had a faulty ethernet cable. ITS WIRELESS!!!! He had me try to go on internet explorer to try the 192.168.1.1, but it kept coming up unavailable since couldnt connect to the internet. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

192.168.1.1 has nothing to do with connecting to the outside world. That connects you to the router. I suggest getting an Ethernet cable and trying a direct connection with it to start.
