DNS problem?

FIXED

There seems to be a problem with www.dslreports.com. For a few minutes, www.broadbandreports.com would work but now, it redirects to dslreports.com which won't resolve. The only way to get here was through an anonymous proxy. Verizon, ATT, Hughesnet and the local cable co. all fail to properly resolve www.dslreports.com

UPDATE: FIXED!
I am having the same problem! www.broadbandreports.com works but the way I access it through www.dslreports.com fails. Other site tools claim dslreports.com is down too.

I was going to post the same thing a few minutes ago. A few public DNS hosts still return the correct address for dslreports.com. Comcast (my ISP) does not. Google (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) does not. 4.2.2.1-4.2.2.4 does not.

Looks like some NS server dropped DSLreports.com from their lists.

Edit - I just hard coded the IP address for broadbandreports.com into my HOSTS file, just so I can use my bookmarks for dslreports.com

Here also using OpenDNS

Make it here with backup url but Opera failed to register, was told it wasn't accepting cookies, but I saw the cookie (and Opera worked for ages until the DNS issue) so a secondary glitch with the bak-up url.

Got here now with backups both URL and Browser MSIE6

Re: DNS problem?

I'm seeing issues unless I use the IP address. Seems to be a nameserver issue, and people have been advised.

Thanks, I don't have the main url handy but did have the back-up bookmarked as the numeric addy from a long time ago.

Same issues with Cincinnati Bell. Using Ip address now.

Edit: Looking at the dslreports tweeter page looks like a hamster problem.

It is fixed now ... it may take a few minutes for it to shake out for everyone. Please go feel free to enjoy more BBQ from the picnic table.

broadbandreports.com or the IP address works.

quote:
DNS info for dslreports;

lookup failed
dslreports.com
Could not find an IP address for this domain name.
Domain servers in listed order:
NS2.EASYDNS.COM
NS6.EASYDNS.NET
REMOTE2.EASYDNS.COM
REMOTE1.EASYDNS.COM
NS1.EASYDNS.COM

Based on this, it should be resolvable soon, I surmise.

Broadbandreports.com is working right now. The IP address to which it resolves may suffice.

But if they can't figure out how to get in, the affected users won't see our sage advice. Hope they figure it out.

I, at first, thought that maybe there was a 'connectivity issue' due to a striking CWA worker.

this works though...

Yes, the IP works fine here....bookmark updated. It was a pain to get it when every ISP I have access to hijack DNS. I guess it's work-around time.

Up or down web site says up. But will take time to propagate thru all the ISPs DNS servers.

www.dslreports.com Is still not resolving for me from the 4.2.2.x (Atlanta Cluster) or from 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4

That's funny.

Pick and choose what site to check this site against it and you will still get different results based on what DNS it's using.
