Cisco VPN Client issue?

A client runs Windows 7 SP1 and the Cisco VPN client 5.0.00.0340. After he's been disconnected from the ASA for an hour or so and tries to reconnect the VPN client says there is an IP conflict. The logs from the software side show this:

13 13:39:46.594 08/17/11 Sev=Warning/2 CVPND/0xA3400015
Error with call to IpHlpApi.DLL: unable CreateUnicastIpAddressEntry, error 0

Failed to get adapter index.

I checked his ipconfig and there is no IPs that come close to his VPN's subnet assigned to his computer; his LAN is a 192.168.xxx.xxx the VPN side which is a non-split tunnel is 172.xxx.xxx.xxx

Any ideas what could be causing this?

If he makes a couple of attempts it will eventually connect, though sometimes he has had to restart his computer to get working.

Upgrade the VPN client to a newer version. Some of the older ones don't disable the VPN adapter correctly and think it somehow still has the previous VPN IP.
