What are the "Must See's" in Vegas for a n00b

I'm actually venturing out to Vegas this Labor day weekend, and I'm bringing along a friend who has never been there. My excuse is that I want to see how close I can get my Kia Soul up to it's rated highway mileage...lol

I haven't really been there that many times myself, and I was wondering what would be some of the "Must See" type places/things to take her. Here's my short list:

Downtown (Fremont St)
Ellis Island (for the great beer n Karaoke)
The Stratosphere (for the scary rides and the view)
The underground mall (maybe get a gondola ride)
The mall (on the other side) that connects a few casinos
Wynn Casino's racecar showroom (is it still there?)

Are there boat rentals in Boulder City/Lake Mead that would be worth checking out? (Prolly gonna be hella expensive for that weekend tho)...

Anyway just lookin for ideas. She'll have her boyfriend along too so they may just ditch me and my other friend to do their own thing, won't know untill we get there.

You have to hit the Fountains of Bellagio. Probably should hit the conservatory while your there.

You live in Long Beach don't you have malls there? Skip the malls they are all the same.

Yes you can rent boats out at the lake but like you said expensive if not already sold out.

If you want to impress her at Fremont take her to the show but not into the casinos. The smell of some of those places is hard to get out of your clothes.

I mentioned malls because she mentioned malls.

Yeah I forgot about the fountain streetside show, and maybe the pirate streetside show (is that still going on?)

I don't really like fremont st. myself - other than walking up and down it and checking out the street vendors. If she wants to go see an indoor show, I'll leave that up to her boyfriend. I hate those things - no matter if it's a comedian, magic, or otherwise. I'd rather spend my cash on other things...

Oh yeah and I'll prolly take them to that giant souveneir shop across the street from the Sahara.

Too bad the nearest freakin Waffle House is in Phoenix...

Ah, Waffle House fanatic... a man after my own heart.

The best buffet I went to out there was the Green Valley Ranch, which is off the strip. If you have a car, check it out. I tried to hit the fountains, but they werent running that particular night. Too bad the fuckers never told us, and we wound up waiting an hr and a half before figuring it out.

Green Vally is run of the mill. If you want good buffets you hit Bellagio, Wynn, M Resort. They are a little pricier but well worth it.

If you are looking for decent breakfast food try the Peppermill next to the Riviera. You never know who you might see there.

True Dat.

I remember the days of $1.99 steak and egg breakfasts, and when they used to give out free packs of cigarettes at the roulette table.

Sadly, them days'r gone.

Well she had a great time.

I didn't know; but apparently she's deathly afraid of heights, so there was no visit to the top of the stratosphere.

However, while we were there I hit a 900 quarter line-win on a 3 coin max bet wheel of fortune machine, followed by another $40 win on spin...

She absolutely LOVED fremont street. There's a zip line there now and she was dying to go on it but the line was sooooo looong...it didn't happen.

Ellis Island (as always) was a blast! Boy do we have some stories to tell from Saturday night...

She did make me take her to the mall so she could get a swimsuit and a dress... :/

Overall it was a very positive trip and I came back with more money in my pocket than I expected.

And The Motel 6 Management has offered me 50% off my next stay due to some comments I made to them in an email survey.
