 | Outgoing VPN devices Hi, I am currently running a local network off my FIOS router and using Windows Server 2008 R2 as a VPN incoming server and gateway. That all seems to work fine. VPN-in routes to any machine on the local network and likewise any machine can use the windows gateway for internet access out.
I'd like to keep that arrangement, but also have some sort of device on the local network that routes to an external VPN server.
I currently connect to one or two external VPN servers dynamically from a PC on the network. That also works OK, but I'd like some sort of permanent connection.
Does anyone know a device that can be part of the local network that maintains the external VPN connections? Obviously I'd like to have any machine on the local network be able to address any machine on the remote VPN network. I know several routers can do this sort of thing, but from what I've seen, those routers have to be the primary internet interface. That poses too many problems for me. |

Which exact server(s) are you connecting to right now? It's really going to depend on how the VPNs work that'll dictate what you get.

 | We contract with HP to have use of several NonStop servers on their network. I don't have specifics of how they implement their VPN portal beyond login credentials. |

 | reply to NciTom Going to need those "specifics" to figure this one out. If you can get one of them to talk to you, ask them straight out what is used on their end, and if you wanted to set up a permanent connection, if they offer such a thing or not.
Just my 00000010 bits.
