Re: ??? said by Rekrul:Does it even still cost AT&T anything to place LD calls? I know that charging extra for caller ID is a scam, since it actually costs them more to not provide it, but do LD calls still cost them more than local calls?
I recently dropped my AT&T line in favor of Optimum Voice. However, the other night I discovered a major downside to doing so. My net connection went down for a while, and when power-cycling the modem failed to re-connect it, I picked up the phone out of habit to call customer support. Oops, no net connection, no phone service...
I don't have a cell phone (didn't use it enough to justify paying the bill every month), so I just had to wait until it decided to re-connect on its own. Cablemodems can take anywhere from 3.5 - 10 minutes to reset.. though, if your having problems.. it's probably better to do a reset from within the web interface rather than unplugging the modem. The reset usually won't take as long when done this way.. unless that doesn't fix your reason for resetting it in the first place. Perhaps docsis 3.0 modems re-link faster? Anyone know if they do? | | Rekrul join:2007-04-21 Milford, CT Reviews:

It's an Arris TM802G, and as far as I can tell, there's no web interface. The manual doesn't mention one and there's no address listed anywhere on the modem. | |
