 | [Hardware] Belkin N600DB router and WD 2Tb HD I am trying to network my 2Tb HD. I tried Pogoplug and it failed. I returned it and bought Belkin N600DB router with USB port, for "easy USB device attachment".
Actually, I do like the new router, even my PC connection is faster, and I like 5Ghz wireless option. My PC is hard wired into router.
Here's the thing. My HD is not showing on network. Manual says "plug USB cable in, wait until green light comes up, and you have your device on network".
I have W7. Best I can do is to control panel>network>network devices
this is what I have showing there:
MY-PC
under media devices, DLNABelkin Play Media Server 1 and MY-PC one more time
under Network Infrastructure, Play Dual Band N600DB router.
I am assuming, Belkin Play Media server is my HD, but there's no way to prove this, as it opens only in Windows Media Player, and shows only handful of pictures and songs I have on the original 2Tb HD. I am not even sure those are, actually, not even on HD, but on PC.
HD is WD Elements 2TB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive. It came with no CD and was quick and easy plug and play on PC.
Same HD works fine on PC.
Any suggestions? Help from Belkin is useless. |

 | OK, I somehow managed to have this HD working on my PC. I downloaded router s/w, re-installed it, it still showed that router is not connected to PC during setup, but router works and I found my HD under networked USB devices. works fine.
Now, it does not show on our mac laptop. Do I need to install belkin s/w on it too? |

 | reply to ukrkoz Open up finder. It should be there under " shared". It shows up as router. Then you can go to the different volumes you have on the drive. I have a n600db and a 2tb drive also. |
