| New Apt setup Just moved into our new apartment...I finally have an office..no more working at the kitchen table! Seems I have more stuff that I remember (alot was in storage).
First picture is "networking closet". SB5120 connected to a Buffalo WZR-HP-300NH2 with dd-wrt. Love this router! Gigabit Lan, N wifi...oh snap. Also have my wrt-54g v2 below it for backup (picked it up for $5 at a goodwill!...running dd-wrt of course).
Oh...and I have my stack of linksys crap...
One cable goes to the xbox in the living room, another goes to my laptop, another goes to the media center.

In the next picture is my uhm...storage/work/thingy? The laptop on there is the media centre. Dell M65, 2.16Ghz C2D, 3GB DDR, ~1tb storage via USB. Runs windows 7 with media extender to the xbox. Gigabit lan...oooh yeah. Connected to the laptop is the 32inch lcd (old school) that mainly just displays a fish tank screensaver because my son loves it. Audio is crap on the LCD screen, so it's piped out to the stereo on the rack.

In this picture is my sweet Asus laptop (i7 720, 8GB ddr, GT335M, 500GBHD, blah blah) with my 19inch dell connected via HDMI, and my TV connected to the cable. Plus all the crap I have above it. Don't worry, it wont fall (i hope)!

Its really simple...but works for us! Hope to add some DNLA compliant endpoints on the wifi for the various TV's at some point. -- werd |
