"new" $2 fee isn't new
I stopped my ATT phone service about 8 years ago because I discovered they were charging me a monthly "penalty" for not choosing a long distance provider.
I explained to them that I didn't use that phone for long distance calls. I invited them to look at my billing history. Since I didn't make long distance calls, I didn't need a long distance service plan.
They were adamant that I either chose a long distance provider or pay the monthly "penalty".
I was adamant about disconnecting my service.
