1 edit | Hurricane Katia Has been named.. Still a long way away.. Expected to be a hurricane some time soon, but not anything to get excited about for at least 5 days. Right now it's looking like Bermuda may be the only land that will have to worry. |

If you mean up the east coast, that looks very likely but with this early a turn may stay offshore. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

 No threat this week |
This morning Katia is looking quite impressive for a new tropical storm. well defined inflow and outflow patterns are setting up, and she is already trying to open her eye.
Still she looks to be too far North to make it to the mainland US. Currently it looks as if she will track north in the Atlantic. |

Re: Hurricane Katia Hummm... |
As of 11PM Katia graduated from middle school and is now a hurricane. Also 4 out of 6 models are seeing something and now throwing in a bit of a left turn in a few days. |

Not good, that's basically what Isabel, Floyd and a few others have done before hitting the mainland. -- On the internet, no one knows the answer but everyone knows why you're asking the wrong question. |

Re: Hurricane Katia The updating tracking puts this more likely to hit US now, the conditions in a few days from now could be right to make this a big hurricane. Definitely should be watched.

Once again, Tropical Storm Katia Katia, is apparently having a bad hair day, and has been downgraded to a tropical storm for now. Models are still shifting around but not to worry there is plenty of time to have a nice Holiday weekend, and complain about Katia Monday. |

 Decisions, Decisions |
Katia is still struggling along as a very weak hurricane at 75MPH. The part to watch out for is that the computer models are diverging quite a bit. |
