Got my desk (a nice folding table from costco) with the docking station set up. Illuminated keyboard so I can turn the lights off to save energy and still be able to type (lol) And yes thats a mini fridge under the bed, for easy access.
And then in the main room we have the free TV that comes with the place and all of this associated pro sound equipment in the rack to make it sound good. Network printing is also available for visitors. There's a server down near the bottom which I haven't figured out what to do with yet. |

 | Looks like a laptop dock. Sweet! |

 | reply to liht It is a docking station for the Dell Latitude E-Series laptops. Can do 2 video outputs (at least). I'm doing one DVI and one VGA. But it can also do Display Port. |

| reply to jwblake Great setup - dockable laptops rock. Though, pro-sound gear isn't required for good sound - just a good set of speakers and a quality receiver is all you need for a space that small. I'd hate to have to move that rack in and out of there!
The server? Maybe use it as a file/print server, or if it's new enough, put vmware esxi on it and setup whatever VMs you might need. (Gaming server for some late night UT3?)
Nice work in limited space. |

| reply to jwblake I have seen static problems with the plastic top folding tables in the winter. Be aware that dry air can charge the plastic and you'll be the discharge path...YMMV Nice setup, I especially like the rack unit...hmmm I have thoughts of that for my home setup one day. |

|
 | In fact that looks like a Mitsubishi VCR of early 2000s vintage. I used to have one similar to that one. |

| reply to Cody It is indeed a Panasonic VCR, the best damn VCR I have ever used. My Sony VCR of the same age (10 years?) crapped out long ago. I don't use it for tapes so much as plugging in all the other stuff that still needs composite RCA jacks...that would be the Nintendo 64.
Rack equipment includes a Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro mixer (not installed in the picture), Behringer V-Verb Pro and Ultragraph Pro. There was previously a 150 watt amp to power some speakers but that's now taken care of by the Yamaha receiver on the bottom. The polk audio subwoofer does a good job of annoying the neighbors.
There's a set of 4 Sony CRT program monitors (heavy!) to view what is on the VCR, etc, because the Picture-In-Picture sucks on the tv. Cisco 2950 to plug in printer, Xboxes, server and various computers |
