Never base your wireless router purchase on the manufacturer's claims.. You'll be SADLY disappointed. If you need to move a lot of data, go hardwired. For casual Internet use, even G will do.
With that being said, WISP-grade gear could give you decent speeds/latencies in areas where running wired is impractical, but that's not within scope of this discussion.
