Today we have released a hotfix for Skype 5.5 for Windows.
In this hotfix we have resolved an issue with the automatic sign-in process, which occurred when Skype was starting up with the computer. On previous builds of Skype 5.5 for Windows the client did not start until a user actually signed-in manually.

reply to Gone Fishing Does this also resolve the problem of Skype refusing to shut down manually from the desktop? Had to kill it in Task Manager as there was no other way of shutting it down. -- "Be simple, be earnest and spread that simplicity throughout everything you do."
