1 edit | Doesn anyone want any of this crap? Cleaning out my office closet and have a bunch of stuff that's been sitting for years. First, let me say I'm not selling. If you want it, come get it. Second let me say....

I might make an exception if I know you from here and you're a long time member. Just don't want to get a bunch of IMs asking me if I'll ship all over the country.
So here's what I have...
An Acer Aspire 3100 Laptop. It's got a bad MOBO. It boots up just fine but the screen, keyboard, usb ports don't work. Nothing else works. I know it boots because the graphics do work if you hook it up to an external monitor. That's all it does though. It's otherwise in perfect condition. They want too much for a new mobo but maybe you want the parts or HD.

Dell Dimension XPS T700R. ( I may have 2 of these. not sure where the other one went.) Got this years ago (Probably 5 or more) when my wifes company upgraded. It's got Win2K Pro on it. Works/runs fine but probably slow. I don't recall to be honest. Don't remember the specs. They wiped them and re-installed the OS before getting rid of them so it's a fresh install. Only ever booted it up twice. No disks or anything. Could probably dig up a power cord though. I know I have about a thousand of them around here somewhere.

Dlink DI524 and Hawking HAI65IP I don't remember why I replaced this. Pretty sure it still worked when I did though.

I have boxes of old computer crap laying around so if I find more that's worth while I'll update this.If no one want's it, it's all going in the trash.
Sorry Dennis, No HP Touch pads. |

But honey- these 30pin tin SIMMS will come in handy some day!
Which leaves me with empty shelves waiting for me to fill them back up... sooooo tempting.... |

| Well yeah. I won't just toss the computers in the garbage. I'll recycle them. I think there's a company around here that will come get. I just want it gone.
I just know there's lots of people around here with tons of old PC crap laying around and like to tinker. For the most part, my tinkering days are over. It's not as cost effective as it used to be to fix things.
If no one here want's it maybe I'll put it on craigslist. It'll be gone in minutes. Those people will take anything if it's free. |

| reply to Jon You know you can always turn an older box into a FreeNAS. I did that for a 433 celeron as a beta test but then upgraded to a HTPC with an Atom core for noise concerns (sits on my desk).
I could probably use that router for my MIL she doesn't have one at all on her cable connection. Lord knows what type of malware or spam she's hosting. If it's available at least if not no worries.
There's a guy on my Freecycle list who takes stuff and puts ubuntu on them, he seems pretty cool. -- My Blog. Because I desperately need the acknowledgement of others.

| Yeah I really have no need to do that. Don't really have a storage or streaming need. You can have the router if you want it. I gave up on Freecycle years ago when it was all "Wanted: Newer Plasma TV" and that kind of crap. It was more people asking for stuff than offering it. |

| reply to Dennis Yeah, the Ubuntu thing is worthwhile. And it is probably easier to configure with older hardware.
However, if I'm not mistaken, recent flavors of Ubuntu require a certain amount of giddy-up. -- Illegitimati non carborundum
