new message indicators not working

Hi-

I'm using a V-Portal so I don't know if this also is occurring with other devices.

Problems started early this afternoon. At first, it was impossible to clear the "X New Messages" message from the device LCD, nor was it possible to clear the stutter-tone indicating new messages. I deleted messages via the phone, via the web, power-cycled the device, etc. No effect.

Then Vonage tech support got involved and made things worse. Now, there is never any indication of "X New Messages" when new calls come in, nor is there ever a stutter-tone. Also, the email notification of voicemail messages has stopped working.

Again, I have tried all the basic troubleshooting steps including disabling and then re-enabling voicemail, etc.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas on how to resolve it?

I just called about the same issue and they say it is a system wide issue with no ETA except that it should be fixed soon.

It's now been more than 48 hours since this problem was reported to Vonage. Still no fix here.

FYI, the problem appears to have been fixed sometime overnight.
