| Trouble connecting 327w to Arris Touchstone cable modem I have cable internet from TimeWarner. I also have a 327w wireless router. Everything used to work perfectly until I subscribed to HDTV and the cable guy replaced my old cable modem with a new one. Then the WiFi stopped working. The weirdest things is this: when I connect my MacBook to the cable modem directly, the internet works perfectly: I can browse the web, everything's fine. (I can see the IP address and DNS server address assigned by DHCP). However, when I connect the cable modem to the wireless router, it doesn't work. Despite the fact that the router's admin page shows the _exact same_ DHCP settings (same IP, same DNS servers). I even have the impression that the wireless router doesn't see the internet at all (when I try to do a DNS lookup under "Diagnostics", it times out, even though I correctly set the VersaLink to "WAN uplink" and turned on DHCP.)
I tried resetting the cable modem and the wireless router, but that didn't help either (I thought that maybe the cable modem remembered the MAC address of my MacBook and were refusing traffic from the wireless router.)
I'm stuck. Any ideas how to proceed? (Oh, I have no problem accessing the admin page of the wireless router, that works too.)

| If the MacBook received a public IP, then it would be your ISP that might have remembered the MAC address of the MacBook. In that case, resetting the modem won't help.
If the MacBook received a private IP (192.168.x.y) from the modem, then make sure that IP does not conflict with the 327 LAN addresses. If the modem is giving oug 192.168.1.x, then you need to change the LAN range on the 327w to be 192.168.2.*. -- AT&T Uverse; Zyxel NBG334W router (behind the 2wire gateway); openSuSE 11.4; firefox 5.0
