| commute from hell Three hours later and I've gone the ten or so miles between Falls Church and Tyson's Corner. And I'm headed to Sterling (probably not tonight since Rt 7 is closed).

Took me three hours to get home from Baileys Crossroads to Sterling. All of my main routes and alternatives were either gridlocked or closed. We all got turned around on 7 somewhere near Beulah, and I wound up doubling back to the toll road, taking that to Wiehle, and finally home on Fairfax County Parkway.
7 was also closed where FCP/Algonkian goes over it.
Edit: and I heard on the radio this morning that 7 was closed at Colvin Mill.
