Nearly all satellite Internet service providers will now be using DVB-S2 as it offers much more efficiency in terms of bits/Hz.. Also Viterbi coding is now pretty much resigned to the odd video carrier as now days Turbo Product Code or LDPC+BCH would be used to provide a higher BER per dB of Es/No or Eb/No (depending on whether S1 or S2 is used). |
