New scoreboard is alive! The big screens will be working in time for the Habs game tomorrow but the LED rings won't have been installed yet (according to sources).

Senators sign 2011 first round picks Noesen and Puempel to entry-level contracts
Noesen, 18, was Ottawa’s second first-round pick (21st overall) in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft. A 6-1, 198-pound right-winger from Plano, Texas, Noesen has scored 13 goals, 21 assists and recorded 32 penalty minutes in 30 games with the Ontario Hockey League’s Plymouth Whalers this season.
Puempel, 18, was Ottawa’s third first-round pick (24th overall) in the 2011 entry draft. A 6-1, 201-pound left-winger from Essex, Ont., Puempel has scored 17 goals, 15 assists and recorded 27 penalty minutes in 29 games this year with the OHL’s Peterborough Petes.

And unfortunately the HD equipment for the control room won't be installed until after the All-Star Game. The LED rings should be in before then, though. |

The Golden Gawd scores his 11th of the season, and 400th of his career, and it's a the game winner in overtime. You can't script this stuff. Great work by the whole team in the 2nd and 3rd periods after being down 3-0 in the first to come back and tie the game, then win it in overtime.

5 out of the last 6 games have gone into extra time, and the last three wins (in a row) have been games where the Senators have never held a lead.
Cardiac kids, including our captain who's playing like one.

Good news injury update:
Patrick Wiercioch, who took a puck in the throat and was hospitalized a few weeks ago, was in the stands with other injured B-Sens (O'Brien - foot, Ratchuk - concussion, Parrish - shoulder) during practice in Binghamton this morning.

The Big Rig is out with a 'high body injury': Senators D Phillips day-to-day with 'mild concussion'

The 33-year-old sustained the injury on a hit in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the New Jersey Devils.
Phillips missed one game in late December due to an upper body injury and has recorded one assist through three games since. He has ten assists and an even plus-minus rating in 39 games this season.
Last week was only his 2nd missed game since the lockout, so he's quite durable but it looks like he's going to miss a few more. I don't have any video of the hit in question as he played a few shifts afterwards before leaving the bench. Let's hope Gonchar is back tomorrow. If not, it'll likely Borowiecki or Gryba that get called up.
