Diagnostic Mode

Everyone,
Sorry for the basic questions but trying to see how to get the 4250 or 8300 SA cable box into diagnostic mode. I have tried holding the ok/sel until mail light flashes then hitting triangle or info and those are not working.

Thanks for any and all help.

Trying to see if they have signal on there. I tested u-verse for a month and now my brighthouse seems like I am still watching U-verse. Meaning the HD seems to pixel some now on faster movement and if you move closer to the TV has a background snow to it. Dont get me wrong the picture is still good just not what it use to be.

Thought I could maybe check it before calling brighthouse out an wasting a half day of work to be home.

They do but if you had a signal issue it would likely manifest itself as macroblocking and you would know it. Question...what kind make and model of TV.

FYI I have had brighthouse for about 2 yrs now and most the time it is pretty good. Just seeing if there was something I could check before call them out.

Have any of the sttings on the Sony changed by some chance? I'll go dig up the features on that unit and see if there is something you can check...hopefully the manual is online somewhere.

No settings have not changed in about 1yr, guess I will give oh BHN a call on coming out

Unless its a tv setting, theres nothing that can be done to fix it. Its the wonderfull side effect of digital compression.

Yes but compression can be adjusted and if it's functioning correctly due to a config issue (which is possible) then there may be problems. Lets keep an eye on this and see if it continues...

Thanks Everyone,
Well of course tech came out this morning and picture was looking good. Tech said there was not noise and all signals were in check.

OK here is newest problem. When I call brighthouse on my cell phone I put in my billing phone number says it will transfer me to a repair specialist. Then the phone call goes dead and my Lightning cable modem reboots itself. I can watch the modem come back online and when I make the call again soon as it says it is transfering me the call goes dead and modem lights all go out and reboots itself.

call 205-591-6880 ask me are calling from number associated with your account I say "YES" Then ask me is short description why am I calling I say "TV Repair" says hold let me transfer you to customer repair specialist then it goes dead and Modem reboots

I did it 6 times in a row

Thanks checking. I know there are specific instances where a reboot is auto-generated but not sure if this is one of those instances. I will find out and get back with ya either in thread or via pm.
