My custom built computer has Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition on it and it is able to run it just fine. So what your saying is that if it can run Windows 7 just fine then it can handle Windows 8 just fine?

Pretty sure that will be the case but you'll know for certain when MS releases the minimum system requirements; anything before then is just guesswork.

darcilicious when will Microsoft releases the minimum system requirements for Windows 8? I just installed the basic part's into my computer just this last May. I finally got my computer fully built to the way I wanted it to be last week. I just don't want to be left in the dark when Windows 8 comes out.

System Requirements:

1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch
To run Metro style Apps, you need a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 or greater
