One of my family memebers are visiting and she would like to connect her Ipad to my wireless network. Now, I tested this myself with her Ipad and and I can see my SSID on the network, but I have to type in my 24 long password everytime. Now, what happens when I am not home and she decides to visit my home, and my SSID will indeed prompt for the password which I cannot remember on top of my head. The WAN password is always om ny other PC but i dont want to boot my PC all the time to check for the password. In this case what should I do?
The iPad won't remember the encryption key/password/pass-phrase between sessions?
Well one work around is to type the key/password/pass-phrase into a Note on the iPad and then you could simply open the Note then copy-n-paste the key/password/pass-phrase into the wireless network properties each time. Cumbersome but it would work.
As far as the iPad not remembering the key/password/pass-phrase between sessions you might try two things...
1. After connecting to your home network go back into the wireless properties and tell the iPad to Forget this Network. Doing that may reset some internal somewhere so when you do reconnect it may remember the network key/password/pass-phrase.
2. Do a power restart of the iPad. That sometimes fixes small issues with my iPod Touch (4th gen).
Beyond that I suggest posting to the Apple iPad forums for help or the BBR Mac forums. That should definitely not be happening. My iPod Touch remembers the encryption key/password/pass-phrase between sessions just fine between sessions...
