Was there really any doubt? We knew it would be Q4 this year, we knew it would be pre Christmas 
Not a game I ersonally am interested in as I play Rift and am more interested in GW2, but my brother is excited so I hope the game can meet some expectations at least |

I will probably do the same. We get Christmas Eve and Christmas day off as company holidays. This year those fall on the weekend, so that will be a four day weekend anyway. Looking forward to some SWTOR! |

Why does this game's graphics LOOK LIKE CRAP?
Was watching some youtube vids and was dissapointed.
Additionally, it looks as if the play control is not up to par as well. In comparison to WoW.
How can you release a MMO with graphics worse than WoW, and play control worse than WoW and expect it to be a success?
I don't get it. |

Can't get youtube at work. Can you summarize please?
Don't get me wrong, I am sick and tired of WoW and the blizzard monopoly. And I love the Star Wars franchise. I am waiting for a WoW replacement.
But from what I've seen, the graphics do look 6 years old. And while I hate WoW, it is a benchmark for play control, and SWTOR control looks lacking. |

Dont get your panties in a bunch. The beta doesnt even have anti-aliasing turned on which will clean up the graphics a lot. Not one screenshot or video you've seen includes it. As for control, the game controls are fine but still getting tweaks in beta. Reminder: The game is still in beta and is 2.5 months away from live. WOW has been out for what 7 years? |

| Just to add alot of those vides you see of gameplay on youtube are from like 2 years ago when the developement first started. Take a look at any of the current videos. The graphics look amazing! And like what was already stated there are still almost 3 months til release so it will get even better. This game looks amazing. I def hope that it takes over wow as the current MMO champ. WOW is getting a little too outdated and keeps pumping out the same ole grindfest crap. And this is coming from someone who loves wow and raids semi hardcore. I cant wait to do quests with actual voice acting vice reading a boreing wall of text that says to go kill x amount of things or fetch this. And you get your own ship how freaking cool is that? |

Other than some cutscenes and marketing videos I've seen nothing of this game that impresses me visually. It smacks of a game that sat in development for at least a year too long, and it wasn't that impressive to begin with. |

I personally am fine with it and for anyone who has played WOW for any given time they arent any worse but are also less cartoony. *shrugs* Most games that look "beautiful" at launch...ie Aion, AOC were horrible for performance...no thanks. |

Sorry jaja. The video compares what SWTOR graphics looked like in 2009 vs. 2010 at PAX. It then compares SWTOR graphics from PAX 2010 side by side with other games in the genre. It handily beats WoW, as it should, and stands up well against other more graphically intense games like Aion, GW2 and Rift. It also talks about graphical challenges in SWTOR vs. other MMOs, specifically the need for facial animation due to the dialog aspect of the game as opposed to a game where you stare at your character's backside 99% of the time. |

That saves time in beta downloads. From what I heard the highest texture levels are not even "selectable" in the beta version.

The game plan will then be to wait until the game has been out for about 1-3 weeks then, to see some latest and greatest videos of the graphics.
At this point I think the only thing that will dethrone WoW will be Titan
Will SWTOR have a free demo? |
