Re: [Rant] Suddenlinks Bandwith Limit Policy This will be rolled out to all markets! I just checked my Suddenlink Account page and for the first time in 3 years "My Internet Usage" has finally showed up. No letter yet though! |

 | anyone noticed any bit torrenting filtering going on, in conjunction with this? apparently capping wasn't enough? |

I thought I was paying for a fast connection that I could use as little or as much as I wanted and not have to worry about it. Now I realize that not only am I paying for the speed, I'm also paying for up to 350 GB transfer per month so I should be making sure I use as close as possible to the maximum allotted cap per month. So, instead of using maybe 30-50 GB most months, I'll keep track of it and try to use the entire 350 GB every month. I wonder how long it'll take them to lower the monthly allowance. |

I'm in Lubbock too, and I haven't noticed any throttling. I'm downloading at 1.8 MB/s right now, with the 15mbit package. It's going up and down right now (6:30 PM) but I think its due to congestion and me having a DOCSIS 2 modem. |

 | reply to in_lubbock None here either. I'm still transferring at normal high speeds. |

 | reply to ghoztsurfer If a neighbor also has Suddenlink, is it okay if I have them download some stuff for me when I'm getting close to the bandwidth cap? I know they wouldn't mind downloading some videos. |

| reply to ghoztsurfer I can't believe that after all this talk about not instuting caps, they start rolling them out.
Hit the cap today with 6 days left on the billing period. Using theiy chart, using a measly 10 HD movies over Netflix will eat up the entire 150GB. Gee thanks guys. |

And yet another good point you have made in here recently, especially cared for the one where you mentioned in a very valid way that the ISP could place more importance finding some resolve on a very old problem "over saturated, oversold nodes" during prime-time, rather than implementing bandwidth caps as some kind of fix. Thanks nnaarrn. Keep them coming.
Can't totally blame the CATV and ISP for flip-flopping on the Cap thing, maybe one might cast some of the very pointed thoughts and reasoning about caps, as just yet...another coercive maneuver brought to you from the powerful content manufacturers wealthy and protected Legal departments. Like in the Cartoon: ".....Thats All Folks". |
