 | [Help Me] DIR-655 Rev. B1 Wired connection speed problem Hello
I just bought a DIR-655 (rev. B1) router that came with 2.00 fw (European version I think). I have a Broadband (100mbps) PPPoE internet connection.
In the beginning I got 95-97 mbps on speedtest.net through the router - the same as with directly connecting my PC. It had all the default settings (SPI and QoS activated).
After I upgraded to 2.01 my speed seems limited to 10mbps (on the wired connection -tested on speedtest.net). I tried different firmwares 2.01NA, 2.03NA, 2.00NA. Yesterday I rolled back to 2.00NA and it seemed that the speed was back to normal. Today it was limited again to 10mbps. I deactivated SPI and QoS and it went back to ~100mbps. Then I flashed 2.03NA, deactivated SPI and QoS. At first I got ~100mbps, then the speed dropped again. I rolled back to 2.00NA, but that didn't solve anything. Now I'm on 2.03 NA with SPI and QoS disabled. I tried enabling and disabling it a few times, but no go. I even hard reset the router and the same. I tried everything suggested here.
Any suggestions?
P.S Does anyone have or know how to find the original 2.00 fw? |

|
 | And here in sweden they sell the B1. |
|
 | Also I just bought a Dir-655 rev b1 in the Netherlands... |

slpip3 join:2007-02-20 Springfield, VA | reply to sweden Dlink doesn't has firmware support for rev b1 at the Europe web sites. Just wonder whether the dir655 rev b1 is the USA model or its the Europe model. Does it use the firmware like 1.34EU or 2.0EU or like the US 2.03NA?
I have the US A4 model but I can use the 1.34WW, 1.31EU, and 1.33NA firmware on my A4 model. |

1 edit | Yes, I can use the same on my so called european model.... |

P.S Does anyone have or know how to find the original 2.00 fw? I'm in the USA and bought a DIR-655 (RevB) and had a similar problem. With QoS enabled (never touched SPI), my 30 meg connection is cut down to 10 megs and uploads speed goes from 3 megs to 0.05 megs. Turn off QoS and I get my normal 30 megs down/3 megs up. I'm on the latest firmware as of this writing (v2.03NA). Unlike your situation though, QoS off and my speeds are rock solid. QoS on, speeds are SLOW.
BTW, this is all via a wired PC and even though QoS was enabled, I didn't have anything configured in there. I think something is broken in their QoS implementation. |

slpip3 join:2007-02-20 Springfield, VA | The QoS ended up as a bottle neck for the DIR-655. I am using FW A4 1.34EU on my US DIR-655 router. It is best FW so far. |
