Excellent news. Thank you. Can you be specific about what the old configuration was, and what the new one is? |

How longer are you going to keep stop sales for KW? Are you guys planing on adding more BW to KW? I am sure that students will eat that up very fast Thanks |

I think the intelligent thing to do is at least give it a few hours to catch on. Still what the performance of the upgrade looks like. |

I'd be curious to know what kind of formulas they use to determine how much bandwidth they need based on the number of customers being served by that link.
Obviously if there is only 2000mbps available and the maximum speed for each client is 24mbps then only 83 people could be hitting full bore at the same time. I know that obviously they factor in the fact that not everybody is going full bore all the time but would be curious to know what the quick and dirty multiplication factor is per subscribed user.
Something along the lines of # clients times xmbps?
Would imagine it might be a little more complicated than that but still there must be some sort of industry "standard" calculation they are using to determine what they need?

I'm seeing a pretty wide range of speeds in my testing from about 5Mbps up to 18Mbps on both speedtest.teksavvy.com and speedtest.net.
I haven't been able to pull anywhere near the same speeds in any two tests which leaves me concerned about consistency. |

Well I think it safe to say that their formula needs to be adjusted to be more conservative. Obviously when we were getting 1-2mbit speeds that we didnt just come close to maximum but hit that and then some. |

Better than it was but still not the 15 I'm paying for..
This is after rebooting the modem for 5 minutes. Can someone at Teksavvy confirm if there is still congestion or not??

said by sbackx:Can someone at Teksavvy confirm if there is still congestion or not?? POI congestion appears to be solved, I'm sustaining over 20Mb/s on torrents. There will however be cases of node congestion that are unrelated to the POI congestion. Node congestion affects Rogers and TekSavvy customers equally, so you can speak to your neighbours. If you've got a DOCSIS 2.0 modem it's almost certainly node congestion. It also seems that areas which are student heavy may be experiencing congestion even on DOCSIS 3.0, though this isn't confirmed. |

Well, I'm using the DCM475 I bought from Teksavvy a few months ago.
I'm by Homer Watson/Ottawa so it doesn't seem like it would be a student heavy location but maybe. |
