Re: Got a hold of new BEFSR11/41 Firmware

I can NOT be pingable with either firmware ver. 1.42.3 or 1.42.4. I DISABLED both block WAN request and SPI and still come up as not being pingable in the tweaks test. Does anyone else have this problem with this firmware? That would help to narrow it down to my particular setup/ISP or the firmware. Thanks a lot

It's something on your end.

I am using 1.42.4 firmware, SPI disabled, then I disabled Block WAN Request.. Went to the tracert page someone suggested (Lanik?) in another thread, and I pinged my machine..

I obtain an IP automatically.

ISP is AT&T Broadband Internet.

Maybe PPTP doesn't allow pings to get thru, no idea.. but it's not the firmware, at least on my end.

PPTP is a private pipe established between your client machine and PPTP server machine. Pingable or not depends on the server configuration. Most probably not pingable. Conside PPTP server as another router, any incoming ping request goes through the server and it's up to server allow you pingable or not.

James, re-read the thread and there's a few links in this thread where you can download the firmware off of.

Lazarus... check your browser settings and see if you have a Proxy specified. If you do, uncheck it and see if that fixes your "speed" issue.
There's a better way to do this. Just specify in the advanced options tab that you want to exclude 192.168.1.*
for proxy server access

Best;

Hey, has anyone had a problem with an ftp server or mirc dropping your connection? event id (10054).... With 1.40.2 I had problems with mirc and this error. I updated to the newest firmware 1.42.6. Mirc was fixed but my ftp server now had the problem when people uploaded to the server... So, I downgraded to 1.40.2 again, and it's still the same with the ftp server, but mirc is fine.... Any suggestions?

I'm afraid to upgrade my firmware from 1.39.1 to the 1.42.6

What known problems are there???

For the past couple of days my cable connection hasn't been doing so hot, so I was wondering if I should upgrade my firmware.
