I had a headhunter call once looking to fill a job in Connecticut. It was a good paying high-level position and the headhunter said the selected person was expected by the company to look the part, i.e very well dressed and fancy/expensive car.
On the other hand, here where I work, my boss has a relatively older Japanese econobox, so I bought a relatively less expensive car that is less ostentatious as well.
