They really don't cost you money, as they are paid for in the cost of the packages themselves. There's not really "too many" if you're not paying for them.

Too many as in they take up bandwidth (Even using SDV) and frequency/channel allocation.

Same can be said of the 99% other channels out there. At least there mostly being paid for separately so they don't affect my bill.

That's not the argument here. It's the fact that there's alot of non-english channels that are a waste of space by default regardless if it's ala carte or not. Especially since CV won't add any new HD channels to their digital/analog systems yet still adds these. They could've added many new HD channels even via SDV by now in lieu of all those non-english channels.

Wouldn't adding more SDV channels just cause more switched video contention indirectly via more people watching, and the cause for that would be more servers, not additional frequencies to the individual customer? The fact that they have something mapped to the channel is minimal. There is so much non-SDV material that I would call crap that others use as reason to stay with the service, or to sign up for the service, and money is obviously the guiding incentive for them to offer any of the channels they have. Unless I'm way off on how it works (where it only uses bandwidth when the channels are requested - hence the cause of the "not available" messages when you try to tune & it fails to launch), you're complaining about one thing that is not the cause for the problem you actually are upset about.

What you consider waste is irrelevant. The channels you like may not be the channels someone else does or whats popular. If cablevision is adding more international channels it must mean there is a demand for them and that it's profitable to them.

What I consider waste is certainly relevant as are the many other customers who have demanded certain ENGLISH channels for years and they don't add them yet allocate frequencies and bandwidth to foreign channels regardless if they're SDV or not. Trying to cater to smaller groups vs their major customer base, the english speaking population is not a sound business strategy.

Can you point on another provider that doesn't offer international packages?

What you consider "waste" is irrelevant and also quite insulting.

Your making it sound like cablevision is being a charity. You have no clue what is good for their business strategy.
