'Network Red Market Routing' on cellphone plan

Original Message to Sprint Cust Svc Follows:

Question: What is this new line item on my cellphone plan mean?
Network Red Market Routing - $0.00
I see there is no charge, but I didn't choose this addon, whatever it is.

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I am happy to assist you regarding the
Network Red Market Routing services.

Starting 9/26/2011, customers that have the "Network Red Market Routing added" on the account and are also frequency callers will be identified within the IVR{{that is the computerized voice response tree you get when you call}} and routed to the High Frequency team in Elmsford. {{that is Sprint svc ctr in Elmsford, NY}}

If the customer has the Network Red Market Routing on the line but is not a high frequency caller, the call will be routed normally, based on the customer’s selection within the IVR menu.

Please rest assured that this service does not change any services on the account, does not affect network provisioning and does not have a MRC. It is an identifier code only.

We value your business and appreciate the opportunity to answer your questions. Please reply to this email or visit sprint.com if we can be of assistance.

Sincerely,
Lewis S.

Of course, they didn't answer what a "Network Red Market" is. I am not a frequent caller, so I wouldn't get routed to the Elmsford svc ctr.

I did a Google search on this and the email answer I got was the same provided to others. But there was only speculation about what a "Network Red Market" is. One person got a Sprint reply that it was related to service areas that are being upgraded with better coverage(I hope that is true), but no confirmation of that or any other info on the subject in other search results. »www.howardforums.com/showthread.···at-Is-It

I too saw this on my account so I shot them an email and here's the reply.

Whenever sprint engineers work in any area to enhance the coverage and service issue a addon pack is added on the account. This addon pack notifies that the Sprint engineers are working to increase the coverage in and around your billing address area.

Due to this reason only the Network Red Market Routing pack is added on the account. I assure you that there is no charge for this pack and when the engineers will complete their job this pack will automatically be removed too. I assure you that the plan, services and charges on the account will not be effected with this addon pack.

We value your business and appreciate the opportunity to answer your questions. Please reply to this email or visit sprint.com if we can be of assistance.

Sincerely, Cecilia K. Sprint
Does anyone else know what a "Network Red Market" is? Any Sprint people here confirm the reply by Cecilia K. to that question?

If not already logged in to sprint.com, it will prompt you for a userid/pw for your plan.

Re: 'Network Red Market Routing' on cellphone plan

I called Sprint and received the same reply that Cecilia K. Sprint gave in her email. No worries:)
