 | VPN service that randomizes IP? Many VPN services claim to make you anonymous. However, if you log in to your web mail account (or other personalized account), doesn't your identity becomes known from then on and can be tracked even as you surf to other sites?
The only solution I can think of is for the VPN server to frequently randomize your exit IP address. Does this feature exist, if so, what is it called, and which VPN service offers it? |

 | Tor does this - I think there is even a button that says "new Identity" which basically uses a new IP |

 | Thanks, but I have abandoned tor since a few years ago. It is just too slow. I just need to fool the advertising/marketing web trackers. I'm not a spy and I'm not doing anything illegal on the web. I believe tor is slow because it bounces traffic between multiple hosts before exiting to the internet.
For me, a proxy server with VPN and IP randomization is good enough, and I don't mind paying a few bucks a month. |

...definitly sounds like a more "legitimate" reason than what I invisioned - admitingly I sterotyped your question as "I like naghty things" or "I like tinfoil hats" - sorry :-/
"I believe tor is slow because it bounces traffic between multiple hosts before exiting to the internet"
...true, and because the network is "overburdend" by those doing naghty things, or because some people think they're cool by helping the project and running a Tor exit node on thier 56K modem line :-(
Do you actually need to "fool" them that you are comming from somewhere else, or why not just block them all-together, then they don't know where you are, and your Internet is all-arround faster.
I use a combination of DNS Redirector and IP-based firewall ACLs to do this - I haven't seen Ads in years. |

To reiterate, VPN is about secure communications over an insecure medium. Anyone who claims anything else is selling snake oil and deserves to be drug out into the street and shot.
As for "randomizing" IP addresses, you'd be breaking a fundamental way IP works, which basically says for any bidirectional traffic, each endpoint shall have a unique identifier (IP address) for the duration of the communication that should not change.
If it's just ads / trackers you're after, the Security forum's probably got more suggestions, but a real EASY way to stop em is using your HOSTS file.

 | reply to slowISP The kind of VPN service you're looking for is called Hide my ass (HMA). Their client software allows you to change your ip address randomly at set intervals. I have been with them for a year. You need to download their software if you want to change your ip randomly. It is a Java program. Their website is: »bit.ly/u8b8K6 ciao |

Re: VPN service that randomizes IP? I would also recommend HideMyAss VPN services. They have great desktop user interface where you can easily configure how often it change IP address. |
