jh2010 join:2009-09-03 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Night0wl I have been asking about 30/5 in NYC for over a year. Do you have any more information as I asked in the direct support forum a few weeks ago. |

jh2010 join:2009-09-03 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Night0wl I just chated with TWC and they said it was not available(the chat people appear to be overseas as their English is good but they use phrases that Americans typically don't use). I will try calling them later. |
|
 | Call the sales department, not online chat. Several appointments have already been booked. |
|
jh2010 join:2009-09-03 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Night0wl I called up and they did it over the phone(I already have a DOCSIS 3.0 Cable modem provisioned. I bought it a few years ago).
I will test when I get home. |
|
 | Glad to hear that! Definitely report back on the speeds, thanks. |

jh2010 join:2009-09-03 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Night0wl It is working well.

 | glad to hear you guys finally got 30/5 residential in NYC now all markets have a standardized plan for DOCSIS 3.0 . I wonder if the 22/5 plan on the business side got upgraded to 30/5? |

SRF26 join:2000-04-03 Jamaica, NY | Thanks for the info regarding 30/5. IF I decide to get this service, is there anything special that needs to be done (by TWC or me) if I use my own D-Link wireless router? I already have my home network set up and just want to swap out the cable modem.
TIA....JL |
|
jh2010 join:2009-09-03 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Night0wl Nothing special is required. If your modem is not DOCSIS 3 then it will need to be upgraded. I already had a DOCSIS 3 cable modem(and my own router) so it was done over the phone. When I got home it was working at 30/5 speeds. |

jh2010 join:2009-09-03 Brooklyn, NY 2 edits | reply to Night0wl I am using an SB6120 and they just upgraded me on the spot(from Turbo to Extreme).
The online Chat people said it didn't exist yet.
I just checked and the number I called was 718-358-0900. I am in Brooklyn Zip 11209.
There are a bunch of planned outage for NYC this week. Maybe one of these will provide you with the new service. see »help.rr.com/hmslogic/network_status.aspx for more details.
My SB6120 is now asking me for a password. Anyone know what the default password is?
hope this helps |

Are they charging you for a truck roll anyway or they waived that since you owned the modem? |
|
jh2010 join:2009-09-03 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Night0wl There was no mention of any other fees, just the additional cost to go from turbo to extreme. It has been working for a day with no issues. |
