 | Battlefield 3 So i picked this up last night for the xbox 360 and i would have to say i'm pretty impressed with this game so far. I only got to play for a couple of hours since i had shitty work today, but i'm sure i'll be playing the crap out of it tonite. The toughest thing so far which i want to learn is the flying. I haven't crashed and burned yet but learning the inverted controls is a little tricky from someone that never use inversion. Well leaving it open for discussion, who else is enjoying so far? |

Also it appears as the Xbox 360 servers are offline/down. -- Team Discovery: Project Hope |

I can't wait to start up SP and see what it TRULY has to offer. MP can wait till I'm done with the story. Besides, MP is ALWAYS dumbed down graphically from the SP game. -- Photoshop these nuts in your mouth.

 | yeah i might be starting the coop campaign tonight since the multiplayer has been messing up a lot. I sort of knew this was going to happen with the influx of people playing multiplayer so i think I'll hold off for now till that is fixed. Yesterday i was in 2 matches that were going on for about 20 to 30 minutes and then all of a sudden disconnected from the server. |

I didn't try it but based on what I'm reading it looks like tonight is going to be pretty bad as well. -- Team Discovery: Project Hope |

Battlefield 3 to be honest i have never tried the single player in any battlefield so this will be my first time as well. I just hope that this won't effect the coop like badger is saying toniight. I heard awhile back from someone that this has basically happened with all the releases to battlefield it takes a couple weeks to get some of the kinks out, but i guess that could be for any game. |

Re: Battlefield 3 Wow! To spend 60 bucks and then never play the game fully, the way it was meant to be played is just wasteful to me. -- Photoshop these nuts in your mouth.

 | reply to Achilles81 i know what your saying but when there is so many games coming out its hard to get every little bit done in them. I still have to go back and do stuff in gears of war 3 and dark souls. I also have skyrim coming up so its going to be really tough. So yeah i know its wasteful so i basically put as much time into what ever aspect is the best in the game i'm playing. In this case the multiplayer is so suppose to be way better than single player from what i have been hearing. |

TopDog join:2007-02-02 Brandon, MS | reply to onebadmofo A good portion of Battlefield 3 players are into the game because of previous play with Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, BF2, etc. None of those games had any single player campaigns.
It's understandable that those who grew up solely on consoles have that point of view, but I have no problem at all spending money on a multiplayer only game. To me, for Battlefield games anyway, that IS how the game is meant to be played. |

So story line entices me to buy the game. MP is bonus to me. (good bonus also...EXPECTED bonus now a days) -- Photoshop these nuts in your mouth.

 | reply to Achilles81 I got the game for ps3..its a good game..wasn't in the mood for a next mw2.5 game..mind you all my friends will still get mw3..not hating..probably get it down the line..bf3 to me is worth the money..and gameplay is amazing...teamwork is key to this game..
but for those who plan to run this evening might be disappointed there will be maintenance around 7:30-9est on bf servers for all platforms..as per battlelog news..
I agree flying the jets takes time.. but after playing the past day I'll stick to the ground vehicles.. |
|
 | reply to Achilles81 I purchased this yesterday and I've logged a few hours into it. I'm pretty impressed to say the least. Mw3 has its work cut out, because in opinion Battlefield 3 is a very worthy title. |

 | reply to Achilles81 The nice thing about BF3 is it's basically three games in one.
You have the single player campaign.
You have the online co-op which isn't really a "campaign" but several co-op missions.
You have the online multi-player.
I myself already blasted through the single player campaign. It was a little short in my eyes...but it was still very well done. There were a few minor graphical glitches and at times it was very difficult to make out the enemies due to them perfectly blending in to the surroundings, but honestly those glitches are to be expected with the level of graphics in the game.
Started the co-op missions tonight with a a buddy...only did the first two so far...the helicopter takes a bit of getting used to before you can fly it properly (Be prepared for many crashes while you work out the controls).
Multi-player is just like the previous ones....fun...fast, hectic. People have obviously been playing it non-stop amped up with redbull etc because I've already seen high ranked people lol.
BTW...I have the XB360 version. |

| reply to Achilles81 So far I'm liking the multi-player. Aside from the server issues, the lack of teamwork (sometimes) and the amount of camping, it's a fun game. I tried flying a jet last night and crashed within minutes though. I'm going to stick with ground vehicles and just being on foot for now. It's more fun that way anyway.
Also, I was impressed with the amount of information provided online through Battle Log. -- "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H. L. Mencken
