BJ is in for the ass-whoopin' that will send him into retirement.

BJ has ground game, but is not a striker. He will not be able to deal with Nick's boxing skills.

What did i tell you ? Nick sent his ass into retirement..LMFAO !!

And if you haven't watched the fight. At the end, BJ said he was done....and didn't want to go home looking like this anymore..LOL !

Beat to shit..Next !

For years, while Diaz was fighting in PRIDE, Elite XC and Strikeforce, White said he’d like to have Diaz back in the UFC if only Diaz would “play the game.”

Diaz wasn’t playing a game when he took Penn apart Saturday and he didn’t play the game that White wanted when he dominated the news conference to an even greater degree than he did his fight.

“I’ve never backed out of a fight in my life,” Diaz said angrily. “You show me someone else who hasn’t done that, pulled some [expletive] about an injury. I’ve been injured all these last fights, even this one. I didn’t pull out, you know? I had no reason to fight. I’m depressed about this whole not fighting [St. Pierre], not getting paid what I wanted to get paid. I could have pulled out with any of these injuries. My knee hurts. Oh, my hamstring. My hamstring … I’ve got the same issues, man. I go running all the time out of my neighborhood, out of the bad neighborhood into the good neighborhood where I like to run. I run by hundreds of these nice huge houses with these big yards, and fountains everywhere. They have their picnic-patio little side yards with a pool. All this stuff, right?

“Then I take a little circle around and go back into my neighborhood, where my car gets robbed, there’s a dude out in front of my house looking for cigarette butts, hoping some friend might have left some. It’s ridiculous.”

White tried to create some levity when he interrupted Diaz.

“Let me tell you,” White said from the podium to Diaz, “I don’t know how much houses cost up there in Stockton, but bro, let me tell you, you got enough money to move. I guarantee you that.”

Everyone in the room laughed except Diaz. He bit his lip and looked down.

He said he can’t do the things he wants to do because his training schedule is so intense. He wasn’t going to back down, and he spoke back to White.

“Not when I’m fighting every two months, every three months,” Diaz said. “I’m going to take a few fights off. My brother moved and you know, it’s like, phew. It’s a long story, man. You laugh, but I don’t know how to go buy a house in the middle of all this training. I didn’t go to school for that.”

GSP isn't a striker either. He's a grappler / ground and pound wrestler.

Georgie boy is going right for a take-down attempt.....he doesn't even wanna stand up and brawl with Nick.

Let's not forget that GSP broke Koscheck's orbital bone with jabs. His standup has improved quite a bit and while he's not a single-dimension striker, his striking is pretty good. That said, I too think he'll go for a takedown pretty quickly. If Diaz's strength is on his feet and GSP is better on the ground, why would he want to stand and put himself in Nick's comfort zone?

Na man. Nick Diaz is ranked #2 in the world. Losing to him is nothing to be ashamed of. BJ needs to fight at 155 and forget about trying to fight these bigger guys. He cant even make the 170 weight (169 lbs) and the other guys are cutting 15-30 pounds.

I've been out of town and stayed off the internet so I didn't read any spoilers. Finally watched the fight last night. I thought BJ won the first round with the take down and taking Diaz's back and also landing some good punches. But Diaz took over in teh 2nd and 3rd laying a real good ass whipping on BJ. Looked like BJ's left orbital might have been broke. Havn't heard anything other than he was sent to hospitol after fight. Either way was one hell of a scrap. I think Diaz has legit chance to beat GSP if GSP gets past Condit.

And BJ isn't retiring. Was a heat of the moment comment. He's said he taking some time off and coming back. I think he will go back to 155 and make one more run at the title.

I was thinking the same thing; his time at 170 is past, but he could still do well at 155 which is a bit more of a "natural size" for him.

Came across this pioc today. All I can say is that's one awesome photo. Two damn warriors right there. Diaz's trainer Ceaser Gracie also has invited BJ to come train with them. Pretty cool.

Yeah surprised he fought at welterweight.

I wasn't surprised that he tried..at this point in his career he's only interested in big name fights. He was Welterweight Champ at one time. But these guys are bigger, better overall, and stronger than they were 6-7 years ago. GSP, Thiago Alves, Jon Fitch, Anthony Johnson, Josh Koschek all cut down from 190-200 to 170. Hell BJ weighed in with blue jeans on at 167 lbs against John Fitch. He just like to test himself. He's fought Lyoto Machida before in an open weight tournament.

I think he takes 6 months off for the birth of his next kid and either tries for another 155 title or retires. There's alot of interesting matchups for him at 155 now with the merger with the WEC and Strikeforce with the UFC. After he lost to Frankie Edgar there really wasn't anyone at 155 for him to fight that he hadn't beat before.

Found a couple vids.. The first is an interview with BJ Penn at his brother Regan's fight. Dude must have superhuman healing powers as his face looks normal in only a week. Second is fan-made a UFC 143 GSP VS Diaz promo. Pretty cool.

About Nick Diaz vs. GSP, unless it's stopped due to a cut, there is no way GSP beats Nick Diaz. No way.

Yeah GSP can win...by laying on him for 5 rounds like he did Dan Hardy. I don't think GSP can try to stand up with Diaz and try to out-box Diaz like he did against Josh Koschek and Jake Shields. I can even see Diaz subbing GSP from the bottom maybe in the first couple rounds before it gets slippery. Of course GSP is known to be "slippery" from the start.

When they were originally scheduled to fight a couple months ago GSP opened as 4:1 favorite. I thought that was way to high. GSP will probably outpoint Diaz by laying on him but no way I think he should be favored that much.
