Why do these turkeys always install new software like Bonjour and other startup tasks which most sensible people don't want?

FWIW those only load if you have iTunes. QT can be a standalone installation (although I prefer VLC if iTunes isn't around).

Understood, those are an actual capture from an HJT Log on my machine since I run an iPad

Unrelated to thread but to satisfy the curiosity some may have a recent iTunes release yielded these findings:

HKLM:Run APSDaemon "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\APSDaemon.exe"

was added to my Win7 QT standalone installation...and then disabled by me.

This was the first time I have seen this startup on my system. I have always routinely disabled the QTTask startup file.

I left alone since disabled it was causing MBAM to terminate unexpectedly.

This is particular to my software | hardware scenario although it is deemed user choice, I've chosen to leave all Apple services and startups as-is
