router setup disc

when I use the setup disc the button is disabled on my desktop (where I want it) which runs Vista but is enabled on my laptop (where I don't want it) which runs xp. This has happened on the two netgear routers I've tried. I tried disabling security, it made no difference. What can be causing this?

You didn't say what router your using. but it doesn't matter. you don't need that system disc. you can setup your router with out it. read the manual and set it up with »192.168.1.1/

NETGEAR routers also hijack dns, so if you're behind the router you can go to »routerlogin.net to get to the interface.
