Frankly, I miss having "real" snow storms. There have only been a couple decent ones this year.
But I am REALLY enjoying not having a huge plow bill also. |

(Feb. 2, 2011) Forget the rodent in Punxsutawney. The true prognosticator, Nantucket's Quentin the Quahog, squirted to the left Thursday afternoon, confirming Punxsutawney Phil's earlier prediction of six more weeks of winter.
More importantly, Quentin predicted a three-point victory by the New England Patriots in Sunday's Super Bowl against the Giants, 10 years to the day one of Quentin's predecessors predicted a Patriots win over the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.
Harbormaster Dave Fronzuto opened Quentin just after noon on Thursday, and then the quahog paid the ultimate sacrifice and was heartily consumed.

The family has been complaining that there is no snow at all this year. I'm enjoying the time and money savings this winter has brought us so far. Maybe this few inches of snow will be enough for them to use the new block molds and make an igloo.

By which the weather forecasters apparently meant "36 and sunny blue skies" here in Cambridge... the ground is a bit damp, though.

My relatives invited me to visit them in Bristol Connecticut. But this storm was SUPPOSED to be bigger, so I ended up not going. As it turns out, this storm produced hardly even a dusting.
I really wanted to go. I lived there from age 2 until we moved at age 12. I wanted to visit my old homes, and of course see my relatives I haven't seen in so many years. |
