Translation: We haven't got a freaking clue.

They don't have a damn clue.
We are back to 6-10 on the map but my weather radio just went off with a "Winter Storm Warning" for 8-12.

Boy I guess I picked the perfect time to head south. Down in DC for the week. Off and on rain today which is headed your way for snow. Enjoy! Suppose to be high 60s tomorrow.

Isn't there some severe weather heading to the DC area?

Just checked three sites - "up to 4 inches," 1-3 inches, and 5-8 inches for Boston metro. Kat's map seems to have me in the 4-8" band.

The verdict, 24 hours later? We have... drum roll please... no snow on the ground. But they say it might snow later today. I'll believe it when I see it.

We got 4" between yesterday and this morning. They say another 6-8" today and 1-2" tonight. We're between 128 and 495 North of Boston.

It is snowing here, but the forecast amount changes every hour!
The weather people have no clue. They stick their head out the window "oh look, it's snowing"
I want to be a weather man. It is the only job where you can BS it, and not get fired.

Somewhere around 5" so far here in NH, and still snowing pretty hard. They're still calling for 6-10". (Depending of course on which "they" is doing the 'calling').
Last night it was supposed to be 8-12", so I figure after a good nights sleep, and several cups of morning coffee, they are better able to analyze the radar screens and forecast models.

I'm guessing about 6 inches in my yard.
Edit: Nope, more like 9.

We got a little snow here, finally. Some fraction of an inch on the grass, a dusting on the road. I saw a drift that was at least three or four inches deep!

Pretty crazy you didn't get snow in Cambridge at all really. I work in Watertown and we got a solid 4-5 inches.

We got six feet of snow last winter... This year has seen a few of these weird fluke-y storms where we get nothing and west of us gets a bunch of snow. Same thing happened with that Halloween storm, we got maybe an inch from that. Same reason, just a little too warm and it rained and sleeted and melted any snow that did fall...

They say the all time record is 67 for the Boston area for today. The current prediction for today is 66 as the high but it could hit 67-68. Nothing like the crazy NE temp swings!
