Break out the shorts!
I spent a part of the day starting the painting of my house. As well as uncovering and placing my picnic table and chairs. I am SOOOO jumping the gun. Normally I wouldn't do these until mid April, but I just have a HUGE case of Spring Fever with all this warm above normal weather.

You're lucky the ocean is keeping you cool. With no heat on it was 73 upstairs in the bedroom last night. I get a horrible nights sleep if it's hotter then 69 but I wasn't breaking out the A/C yet. Opening the windows for a few hours didn't help nor did the ceiling fan.

Well, it is mid March, and I have already painted the shingles and trim on the back of my house. Tomorrow I am moving to the front.

I just bought a wood chipper yesterday. I also did all my annual maintenance on the yard equipment yesterday. Check the spark plugs and regapped if needed, oil change, sharpening if applicable, filled the gas tanks, then ran each item for a few minutes to make sure they worked perfectly. The new riding mower should be in this week as well. In prep for that I cleaned and reorganized the garage on Saturday.

If anyone needs hardwood (95% maple) chips for anything let me know. I should have a few extra bags for free just North of Boston.

This is the pile I need to chip. Should be a ton of maple chips. I'll have to see when we plan to head up to St. Albans, ME again.

I could use one of those chipper/shredder thingies.
I've got a couple piles of branches/twigs that I would like to make "go away".

I picked one up off Craigslist for $375 and after I finish the stuff I have I'll resell it on Craigslist for $375. The owner even delivered the wood chipper to my house. The best way to rent stuff!

Toss 'em in the ocean.

Somehow, salt, sand and snow is illegal to drop in the ocean.

Accidentally dropping matches and cigarettes hasn't helped my brush piles.

Weenie and marshmallow roast might be the way to go.

Fire permit for Motel Hell is going to be co$tly this year. Because they can.

They charge you for a burn permit there? They are free here but trying to burn a 13'x10'x5' pile of branches would be a nightmare. The wife won't let me burn them as they sit. Some animals could be using it as a home. I have to move the branches to another pile to burn so if I'm going to do that I may as well just chip them up.

Usta be free.
Then $10 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE
Now it's $25. Because they can.

Motel Hell is paying OVER $100 in permit/fees for 1 clambake this summer. Private beach too.

I saw the bill. Scout's Honor.

I ran into a yellow jacket yesterday. The good new is it's no longer with us thanks to a can of WD40 and a lighter.

Add some Duct Tape and you have the cure for the common cold!

Wash-ashores/People from Away screw things up.

Last years boat flares light a good fire.
We'll have to get a permit/license/pay a fee for them soon.

All I have left to paint is the west side of my house, my porch, and front entry.
I have never started painting anything until mid April. Can you say "ahead of schedule?" Thank you for the wonderful warm weather this week!

We had a cool down. It only reached 68. I had to get my wool coat out.

46 this morning in Framingham. Went out for a nice, long 5mi walk in the overcast skies, and it was comfortable with just a light jacket.

Current weather alerts include: high pollen, fire weather, and an imminent hard freeze. Now there's a trio you don't see every day.

Wonder what the freeze will do to all these flowering plants and trees.

Time for a March reality check

22 degrees, wind from the north at 15 mph with gusts to 25. Gusty winds started yesterday.
I'll have to check out the tree, I don't know what kind, I photographed a few days ago to see how it stood up to the wind.

Bright sunny warm day.
5 days later after 2 nights of temps below freezing.
Lots of daffodils were destroyed too.
